The Perfect Escape
Switsongo means “little things” in Xitsonga the local language. This name was chosen to draw attention to the little wonders of nature in our area, since there is already such emphasis on the African Big 5. The natural bush contains a treasure trove of truly amazing and beautiful creatures of all shapes and sizes and we would like guests to enjoy these as much as the incredible large creatures of Africa.
Switsongo B&B is in the heart of a stunning wildlife estate in Hoedspruit. The area teams with wildlife, and walks and drives are possible on the estate. Guests can also simply enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the bushveld while relaxing alongside the pool. The four tastefully appointed en suite rooms at Switsongo offer stylish comfort for our guests to enjoy. Delicious breakfast, prepared by your host from the best local ingredients is included as part of your stay. Other meals can be enjoyed at request in our lodge or in one of the restaurants close by, in and around Hoedspruit. Switsongo is perfectly located to serve as a base from which a range of interesting and adventurous day trips can be done.

Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate
Enjoy Nature
- The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is 645 hectares big and hosts only plains game which makes it safe to explore on foot.
- Animals on HWE are: impala, warthogs, nyala, kudu, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, wildebeest, duiker, steenbok, porcupine, civet, genet, mongoose and assorted birdlife and reptiles.
- Due to the proximity of other wildlife estates on occasion wild dog will traverse the estate.
- Leopards are also on Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate as their movements are all but impossible to control.
- It is on the other side of the road from Pridelands Nature Conservancy which is a Big 5 reserve.
- Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate has tar roads for convenience, a waterborne sewage system and a water and electricity reticulation system for efficiency and self-sustenance.
- Getting to Kruger Park is quick and easy, Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is located 74.8km from the Phalaborwa Gate and 67.2km from Orpen gate all down main roads.
- Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate is centrally located in Hoedspruit, Limpopo.

Ntsako provides you a nice and tasty breakfast, as well is she a good housekeeper and she provides you a nice and clean room.
Tracy is the youngest of our staff and she also takes care of your breakfast and nice room.
Present works hard to keep our lodge and garden in good condition for you.
Our African dream comes true at Switsongo.
With our homehase in Belgium we travelled through different contitents and visited a lot of countries, but we lost our hearts in Africa….
